VerHage named COO, co-founder of Fintech Today

Julie VerHage

Fintech Today has named business journalist Julie VerHage its chief operating officer and co-founder.

She was hired in March to run FTT+, a weekly premium newsletter under Fintech Today. VerHage had previously worked at Bloomberg covering the intersection of finance and technology.

VerHage said that FinTech Today will be expanding its newsletter base and plans to add noneditorial content that will benefit and grow its community.

VerHage joined Bloomberg in 2015 as a markets reporter. Before that, she was an associate producer at Fox Business Network, as Charlie Gasparino‘s producer where she wrote about topics that ranged from Wall Street to Silicon Valley. She appeared on “Your World with Neil Cavuto” as well as “Money with Melissa Francis,” “Happy Hour,” and “Countdown to the Closing Bell.”

She earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Michigan State University.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
