VentureBeat reporter to join Adweek

Anthony Ha, a VentureBeat reporter who was one of its first hires, has been hired by Adweek to become its West Coast bureau.

Ha is a senior editor at VentureBeat, as well as its reporter on media, advertising and social networks.

Before joining the site in 2008, Ha worked at the Hollister Free Lance, where he won awards from the California Newspaper Publishers Association for breaking news coverage and writing. He attended Stanford University and now lives in San Francisco.

Owen Thomas, the executive editor of VentureBeat, left the site in March to join a start-up site. Marie Baca was promoted to managing editor shortly after he left.

VentureBeat, which was started by former San Jose Mercury News reporter Matt Marshall in 2006, covers Silicon Valley and other business-related topics.
