Emily Van Zandt, the Washington Business Journal associate editor the last two years, has been named the paper’s new special projects editor.
She replaces Jen Nycz-Conner, who left the American City Business Journals paper for Hilton last month.
Van Zandt will also take over the Back Page column. Her first column is here.
In an email to the staff, editor Doug Fruehling wrote, “She’s done a stellar job as associate editor the last two years and we’re happy that she’ll be assuming all editorial event-related duties from Jen Nycz-Conner and taking over the Back Page column.”
Van Zandt is a University of Missouri graduate in journalism. She previously worked at The Kansas City Star, Chicago Tribune’s RedEye and the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
