Van Romburgh named ME for Crunchbase

Marlize van Romburgh, the managing editor of the Silicon Valley Business Journal, has been named managing editor of tech news site Crunchbase.

She will start next month.

“I couldn’t be more excited for the chance to lead and grow a young newsroom doing data-driven journalism on an incredibly important sector of our economy,” she wrote on Twitter.

Van Romburgh has been managing editor for the past three-and-a-half years and was previously assistant managing editor for digital. Previously, she held editing positions at the San Francisco Business Times and was a reporter in Southern California covering banking and commercial real estate.

She also worked at a web development agency that builds online tools and platforms for publishers.

Van Romburgh also worked at the Pacific Coast Business Times, where she was managing editor.
