David Lynch, a reporter for USA Today for the past 16 years, is leaving for Bloomberg News, according to a memo posted on the Romenesko site.
The memo from USA Today managing editor/Money Jim Henderson states:
I’m sorry to announce that David Lynch will be leaving us to join Bloomberg’s Washington bureau where he’ll be an enterprise writer focusing on the intersection of politics and economics for both the wire service and Business Week. In addition, he’ll be making occasional appearances on Bloomberg TV.
David joined us 16 years ago from the Orange County Register. During his time here he opened our London and Beijing bureaus, covered wars in Kosovo and Iraq, and reported from more than 50 countries. He was also was the first person from USAT to receive a Nieman fellowship. Please join me in wishing him the best of luck at Bloomberg. We will miss him, and so will our readers.
Lynch is USA Today’s global business writer and author of the forthcoming book “When The Luck Of The Irish Ran Out.”
