USA Today lays off two from Money desk

USA Today has laid off two staffers from its Money desk, slightly more than a year after it laid off two other staffers from the same desk.

Kris Kinkade, who had been at the paper since January 2011 and was most recently assistant Money editor, was one of the two who left earlier this week.

Kinkade helped plan the print Money section of USA Today daily and assisted the Money editor with general planning for the department.

He also organized and edited the Personal Finance section of the paper and helped manage and edit online content for the Money section on the USA Today website, including some content creation. He was also charged with serving as USA Today‘s liaison for several Money section content partners.

Jae Yang, the Money snapshots editor, was also let go this week. Snapshots were graphics that included facts and figures about money and business.
