Two new MEs named at ACBJ papers

Two new managing editors have been named at American City Business Journals papers on the West Coast, said Beth Hunt, manager of editorial operations for the Charlotte-based company.

Matt Kish has been named managing editor of the Portland Business Journal. He joined the paper 18 months ago as a staff reporter covering ports, manufacturing, media and marketing.

Kish is a board member of the Society of Professional Journalists Oregon chapter.

Mark Stafforini has joined the East Bay Business Times as managing editor. Stafforini comes to the paper from the Oakland Tribune, where he was business editor.

Stafforini had previously been the deputy business editor at the Tribune, and he had also worked as a news copy editor at the Contra Costa Times in Walnut Creek.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
