Two NerdWallet staffers leave, looking for other work

Two NerdWallet editorial staffers have recently left the personal finance website and are looking for new jobs.

Jackie Zimmerman worked as a personal finance writer for NerdWallet for two years and eight months. She has also been a contributing editor to A Women’s Thing, a women’s feminist literary publication.

Zimmerman also worked as an editorial assistant at Money magazine. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University.

James Royal covered investing for NerdWallet.

His work has been featured in the Washington Post, New York Times, and the Associated Press. Previously Royal worked for The Motley Fool as a stock analyst and writer for eight years, and he literally wrote the book on cool as part of his doctoral work in English at the University of Florida.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
