OLD Media Moves

Two Gannett papers expanding Sunday biz content

Two Gannett papers — the Knoxville News Sentinel and the Louisville Courier Journal — are expanding their Sunday business sections.

Joel Christopher, executive editor of the News Sentinel, writes, “We’ll give you a deep dive every week into the real estate market, with a snapshot of what’s happening, home price comparisons and insightful analysis. We’ll also expand on our signature Book of Lists with pieces that dig into the fascinating data that illuminate the health of our local and regional economy. And we’ll revisit the people who made up past 40-under-40 lists to see what’s happened in the year’s since we singled them out for their contributions to our community.”

Mary Irby-Jones, editor of the Courier Journal, writes, “To renew our focus on stronger business reporting, we are also adding more stories about our business community, real estate market and neighborhood development. Here are a few examples of what you can expect in upcoming Sunday editions:

  •  Development stories that tell readers about commercial and residential plans in the Louisville area, including Southern Indiana. If you see something while driving in your area or have suggestions for coverage, contact development reporter Lucas Aulbach at laulbach@gannett.com or on Twitter at @LucasAulbach.
  • A business openings and closings column by business reporter Ben Tobin. If you want to submit suggestions, contact Ben at bjtobin@gannett.com or on Twitter at @Ben__Tobin
  • A relaunch of our Reader’s Watchdog column by reporter Matthew Glowicki. First launched in 2020, this column is designed to help readers get answers and hold public officials, businesses and individuals to account.”
