A dozen business journalists and business journalism professors are seeking nine seats on the board of the Society of American Business Editors and Writers during its annual conference next month.
Those running for re-election include Money senior writer Lisa Gibbs, McClatchy national economics correspondent Kevin Hall, New York Times business reporter Diana Henriques, CNNMoney.com executive editor Chris Peacock, Financial Times U.S. news editor Gary Silverman, and Dallas Morning News personal finance columnist Pamela Yip.
Members newly seeking election to the board are freelance journalist Jonathan Blum, Wall Street Journal deputy managing editor Deborah Brewster, Baruch College journalism professor Andrea Gabor, Missouri State University journalism professor Mary Jane Pardue, Puget Sound Business Journal managing editor Alwyn Scott, and “Nightly Business Report” executive editor Rodney Ward.
One board member, Seattle Times business editor Becky Bisbee, is not seeking re-election after being on the board for 10 years.
The top six vote-getters will serve for three years. The next three finishers will serve for one year.
