Triad Business Journal names new editor

Rebecca Troyer

Rebecca Troyer has been named the editor of the Triad Business Journal, an American City Business Journals paper based in Greensboro, North Carolina.

She replaces Mark Sutter, who was editor for nine years.

Katie Arcieri of the Business Journal writes, “Troyer brings a wealth of experience to the new role. She was the managing editor of Triangle Business Journal in Raleigh from August 2013 to April 2016. As managing editor, she led newsroom operations and oversaw its print and digital content. Before returning to her home state of North Carolina in 2013, Troyer was the opinion editor at The Daily Press, a Tribune media company in Newport News, Va., where she was responsible for writing editorials, moderating public events and leading meetings of the editorial board.

“Troyer had a successful decade-plus career as a business attorney before starting her journalism career at the Herald-Times in Bloomington, Ind. Her first job at the Herald-Times was writing a popular consumer troubleshooting column, ‘Hotline.’ She also was a business reporter and editorial board member at that paper. Most recently, Troyer, a native of Raleigh, worked at Pace Communications in Greensboro as managing editor of the digital and print versions of Four Seasons Magazine. She moved to Greensboro in March after her husband, Carter Crawford, joined the faculty of N.C. A&T State University as an assistant professor who heads the landscape architecture program.

“Ollie Chandhok, president and publisher of Triad Business Journal, said he is very excited to announce the addition of Troyer as TBJ’s new editor-in-chief.”
