Triad Biz Journal reporter moving to Denver Post

Jessica Seaman

Triad Business Journal reporter Jessica Seaman is leaving the American City Business Journals paper for a job at the Denver Post.

She will start her new job covering health care at the Post on July 9. Her last day at the Business Journal is Friday.

Seaman has been covering technology and health care for the Business Journal since March 2017.

“I couldn’t be more thankful to have worked with so many amazing people — ones who know me so well they made sure I got my own pizza during a going away lunch,” wrote Seaman on Facebook.

She previously was a business reporter covering energy at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in Little Rock. She joined the newspaper in 2012, and covered Acxiom, Windstream and Murphy Oil. She wrote about the decline of Arkansas’s gas shale formation, pipelines bursting in the Arkansas River, and the use of big data by law enforcement agencies during terrorist hunts.

She was part of a team that won a Green Eyeshade Award in disaster coverage in 2016 for the paper’s stories on floods and tornadoes that hit Arkansas in 2015. She was also part of a team that won a Green Eyeshade Award in 2014 for stories on an oil spill by an Exxon Mobil pipeline in Mayflower, Arkansas, in 2013.
