Owen Covington, a reporter for the Triad Business Journal in Greensboro for the past six years, has left for a job at Elon University.
Covington is now the director of the news bureau at Elon.
“Part of me will miss the life and experiences that come with being a reporter, and I hate to leave the incredible people at the Triad Business Journal I’ve had the distinct pleasure of working with during the past six years,” said Covington in a Facebook post.
At the Triad Business Journal, Covington covered banking, the health care industry, media and marketing, and the legal community. Before joining the paper in November 2010, he was the editorial page editor at the Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer in Kentucky. He also worked as a reporter at the paper, covering city and state government.
Covington also spent two years at the High Point Enterprise in North Carolina.
He is a graduate of Davidson College and has a master’s degree from UNC-Chapel Hill.
