Three newspapers add WSJ Sunday

Three newspapers — The Flint Journal (Flint, Mich.), Newsday and The Register-Guard (Eugene, Ore.) — have agreed to begin running the Wall Street Journal Sunday content in their weekend paper.

The Flint Journal, published by Booth Mid-Michigan Newspapers Inc., has combined editing and production operations with two existing Michigan-based Sunday Journal partners, which led to the decision to incorporate the program into The Flint Journal.

Newsday has introduced a redesigned compact size and will debut the Sunday Journal on June 7. The Register-Guard, an independent, family owned publication, will join the Sunday Journal network of newspapers on June 7.

“The Sunday Journal pages provide readers across the country access to credible, personal-finance news content written exclusively for our Sunday partners and also provides an efficient platform for advertisers to reach an engaged, affluent audience,” said Paul Bell, vice president of partner businesses for The Wall Street Journal, in a statement.

The Wall Street Journal Sunday’s publishing partners choose one of two syndicated weekly offerings of fully-composed pages: The all-editorial package is an original weekly package of articles and information focused on personal finance and careers, and the national advertising network offers the same news content paired with a national advertising revenue sharing agreement.

The Wall Street Journal Sunday is now published in 60 local and regional newspapers, reaching 7.6 million paid readers each week.
