TheStreet hires two new reporters

Financial news site TheStreet.com has hired two new reporters — one to cover bankruptcy and distressed situations and another to cover activist investors.

Stephanie Gleason has been hired to cover bankruptcy and distressed companies. She previously worked as a reporter for The Wall Street Journal covering the same topics since 2011.

Prior to that, Gleason was a business reporter for Capital News Service. She has a bachelor’s degree in English from Loyola Marymount and a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Maryland.

Vishesh Kumar has been hired as a senior correspondent covering activist situations.

For the past eight years, Kumar has been a general partner at Wofi Capital, a venture capital and private equity investor in technology companies.

Kumar previously worked at The Journal as a tech reporter from 2007 to 2009 and was an internet and tech reporter at TheStreet from 2006 to 2007.
