Financial news site TheStreet.com has signed a new contract with Jim Cramer for another four years at an undisclosed amount.
The new contract takes effect Jan. 1, 2018 and will expect Dec. 31, 2021.
Cramer, who is one of TheStreet’s co-founders, provides commentary and analysis for the site and for some of its subscription products.
“The Company greatly benefits from the many contributions of our founder, Jim Cramer, the most recognized personality in financial media,” said CEO Dave Callaway in a statement. “Jim’s continued commitment to TheStreet is a strong validation of the positive direction the company is headed.”
Cramer, who also hosts “Mad Money” on CNBC, received $3.05 million in compensation in 2016 as part of an agreement that includes the licensing fee for use of his name and likeness, a royalty payment and reimbursement for certain expenses.
TheStreet’s shares rose 30 cents, or 32 percent, to $1.24 in Monday morning trading after the company reported earnings that beat Wall Street expectations.
