The Wrap announced Thursday the hiring of two journalists, Scott Collins and Meriah Doty, to expand its TV and film industry coverage.
Collins joins The Wrap as TV editor, leading the site’s coverage of the television industry. Collins spent the last 12 years as a staff writer at the Los Angeles Times, covering the TV business and programming as well as contributing to the popular ShowTracker blog.
He previously served as TV editor at The Hollywood Reporter and contributing editor at Brill’s Content. He is the author of the 2004 book “Crazy Like a Fox: The Inside Story of How Fox News Beat CNN.”
Doty joins The Wrap as film reporter from Yahoo, where she served as movies coverage editor in the Los Angeles office and wrote about everything from the Oscars to Comic-Con. She previously worked for CNN, CNN.com, Buzz Media and ABC.com.
“Scott and Meriah have both proven themselves to be exceedingly talented, well-respected entertainment journalists,” said Sharon Waxman, The Wrap’s founder and editor-in-chief, in a statement. “We are excited that they are bringing their skills to TheWrap, helping to expand our coverage of entertainment news and create the best possible reader experience.”
Both Collins and Doty will join The Wrap in April.
