Eliot Chen has joined The Wire as a staff writer.
He is based in Toronto.
Previously, he was a researcher at the Center for Strategic and International Studies’ Human Rights Initiative and MacroPolo, the in-house think tank of the Paulson Institute. His translation work has also appeared in The Guardian.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from Princeton University, where he won four awards for his thesis on media manipulation and public opinion in China, including best thesis in the Department of Politics. He was born and raised in Hong Kong, and also speaks Cantonese and Mandarin.
