The Real Deal New York hires Plitt as an editor

Amy Plitt

Amy Plitt, a writer and editor who has covered a range of topics from New York City news and real estate to pop culture to luxury travel, will be joining The Real Deal as an editor covering real estate.

Plitt has been working freelance for more than 11 years and has contributed feature-length stories, profiles, interviews, reviews, and online slide shows for various clients, including Bust, Rolling Stone, Mental Floss, the A.V. Club and more.

She was also editor at Curbed, New York for 5 years, leaving her post this year in July. She has also worked as a digital editor at Conde Nast Traveler editing as many as 10 posts per day, optimizing content for SEO and QA articles and assisting the deputy digital editor in maintaining a daily editorial calendar for the site and in managing the day-to-day operations.

Plitt has also worked at Time Out New York for more than 8 years, joining as an evening receptionist. She then held various roles at the company, including editorial coordinator, associate editor, “This Week in New York” editor and senior editor.

She is also the author of “Subway Adventure Guide: New York City” (Triumph Books).
