The Real Deal has hired CoStar reporter Jennifer Waters to cover real estate in the Chicago area.
She had been with CoStar since March 2018.
Waters wrote the Consumer Confidential column for MarketWatch.com and has covered the markets for a variety of beats, including retail, airlines, food, grocers, drugstores, hotels, restaurants as well as commercial real estate and the business of sports.
She also authored a Personal Business column about government retirement programs for the Sunday Wall Street Journal.
Waters was also the Chicago bureau chief for CBS MarketWatch and a host on Minnesota Public Television.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Illinois State University and an MBA from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
