The Real Deal expands into Chicago market

The Real Deal, a website and magazine covering real estate news, has launched a site for the Chicago market.

The New York-based publication has websites in Los Angeles, Miami and New York and is looking to expand into other markets, said Heather Grossman, executive editor for growth and strategy.

“It’s a great market for us to be in,” she said. “It’s kind of the next market.”

The Real Deal is staffing the site with one senior reporter and a freelance editor. Chicago real estate news is covered aggressively by Crain’s Chicago Business and the Chicago Tribune.

The Real Deal recently celebrated its 15th anniversary. It has a 65,000-circulation monthly magazine and TheRealDeal.com receives more than 1 million unique visitors per month.
