Personal finance site The Penny Hoarder has hired Tampa Bay Times editorial writer Molly Moorhead.
Moorhead will be an editor and a team leader. She will start on March 18.
Moorhead is a native of St. Petersburg and graduate of the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications. She came to the Times in 2002 as a reporter in Pasco County, where she covered city government, the Sheriff’s Office and the courts and wrote occasional human interest columns.
In 2011, she joined the national staff of PolitiFact.com, checking political claims from Washington and the 2012 presidential election.
The Penny Hoarder and the Times are located in the same building in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. The Penny Hoarder is on the top floor.
