The Gazette hires Steppe as its new biz reporter

John Steppe

John Steppe will be joining The Gazette in Iowa as its new business reporter.

Currently, he is a Ray Kenney business reporting intern at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

His new role begins later this month.

Steppe has also worked at Marquette Wire as an executive sports editor where he hired and managed a staff of two assistant editors, three producers, one audio content producer and five multimedia sports reporters. He also oversaw all sports editorial content appearing on the website.

In addition, he has also interned at The Gazette and was also part of The O’Brien Fellowship in Public Service Journalism and also served as a production and broadcast resource specialist at Diederich College of Communication.

Steppe holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Marquette University.
