Joy Macknight has been named editor of The Banker following the retirement of Brian Caplen.
She is the first female to edit the publication.
Macknight joined The Banker in 2015 as a transaction banking and technology editor. She then held the post of deputy editor and was later made managing editor.
Macknight has vast experience covering financial services and technology. She was also a features editor at Profit and Loss, and has served as an editorial director at Treasury Today. She was also editor of gtnews and has worked as a staff writer at Banking Technology.
She also wrote weekly news and monthly features for Reed Business Information.
She is also on the advisory board of the FINTECH Circle Institute.
Macknight is a graduate of the University of Victoria.
