Wall Street Journal reporter Peter Nicholas has been hired by The Atlantic as a White House correspondent
Nicholas will begin with The Atlantic next month, and will share the beat with Elaina Plott.
For the past seven years, Nicholas has been a politics reporter and White House correspondent for The Journal. He has participated in a half dozen interviews with President Trump, and in recent months has closely chronicled Trump’s quest for a wall, the government shutdown, and staff upheaval at the White House.
Nicholas most recently reported on how Vice President Mike Pence has inserted his religious considerations into the administration’s foreign policy.
Before joining The Journal in 2012, Nicholas was a staff writer and presidential campaigns reporter for The Los Angeles Times. He covered the 2008 presidential campaign and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s administration from Sacramento. He has also worked for the Philadelphia Inquirer and New Orleans Times-Picayune.
