The Athletic hires Davidson to cover sports business

Kavitha A. Davidson has been hired by The Athletic to cover the business of sports.

Davidson has been at ESPN from July 2016 to July 2018.

She previously was the sports columnist at Bloomberg View covering the intersection of sports and society, culture, politics, race, gender, and business.

She previously edited the World News page at The Huffington Post. She has appeared on various media outlets such as MSNBC, CNN, ESPN, CBS, and Fox Sports.

She studied Urban Studies at Columbia University.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
