Mary Ann Azevedo
TechCrunch has hired Mary Ann Azevedo as a senior reporter.
Her first day was Monday.
Azevedo had been managing editor at FinLedger. Azevedo came to HW Media in June 2020 as fintech editor for HousingWire.
Previously, Azevedo was working as a senior reporter at Crunchbase News. She was also ranked No. 7 on Techmeme’s leaderboard for “Author by Presence,” for the ability to deeply report on, and break news in, the technology industry.
Azevedo has also served as Austin correspondent for Crain’s and has also worked as a real estate reporter at Silicon Valley Business Journal. She was also at Houston Business Journal for more than 6 years, joining as a reporter, technology and health care and then holding the post of assistant managing editor.
Additionally, Azevedo has also worked at CountryWatch.com, dbusiness.com, ICIS News, The Dispatch – Lexington, News & Record and OMNI Magazine.
