Levi Sumagaysay, a tech reporter hired earlier this year by new tech news site Protocol, is leaving the website.
“It’s been a wild ride, these 25 years in journalism, which is more vital now than ever. I hope my ride is not over for good,” she wrote on Twitter.
Sumagaysay reported on Silicon Valley. She joined Protocol from the San Jose Mercury News, where she was a tech reporter.
A former business news editor and writer of Good Morning Silicon Valley, which was one of the earliest blogs to chronicle the rise of the internet, Sumagaysay has written or edited technology news since the first dot-com boom.
At the Mercury News, Sumagaysay was also the business copy chief and assistant business editor.
