She previously was an associate editor, responsible for banking and mortgage coverage on Personal Finance Insider.
Before joining the Business Insider team, she was a freelance finance writer for companies like SoFi, The Penny Hoarder, and Reset Button, as well as an editor at FluentU.
Tarpley previously taught English to Chinese students. She is a graduate of Young Harris College.
