Tampa Tribune lays off business editor for second time in five years

The Tampa Tribune newspaper has laid off its business editor this week, the second time the paper has done so in the past five years.

Margie Plunkett had been the business editor since March 2013.

Back in December 2011, the paper also laid off business editor Dale Hokrein.

Plunkett had been a business reporter and assistant business editor for The (Fort Lauderdale) Sun-Sentinel from 1999 to 2008. Before that, she worked as a business reporter for the Palm Beach Post and as a business editor of the Washington Times.

She is a graduate of Rowan University.
