Tampa Bay Business Journal names new publisher

Ian Anderson

Ian Anderson has been named the new publisher of the Tampa Bay Business Journal, an American City Business Journals publication.

Alexis Muellner of the Business Journal writes, “Anderson joins the TBBJ from its parent company, American City Business Journals in Charlotte, where he spent the past three years focused primarily on ACBJ’s digital platforms and products.

“Anderson started with ACBJ in Tampa as an account executive in 2007 and was promoted to audience development director in 2010. He was promoted to publisher of Albuquerque Business First in 2011, a TBBJ sister publication.

“During Anderson’s tenure as publisher, Albuquerque Business First grew at a rapid rate during a time of change in the media industry, with revenue, audience and web traffic all increasing by double-digit percentages annually.

“‘We did that by doing a lot of the things I did here, as far as collaboration and trying new ideas and being OK with learning from failures,’ Anderson said.”
