Tallahassee biz editor predicts more local news in section

Steve Liner, the business editor of the Tallahassee Democrat, noted in his Wednesday column that Audrey Post, assistant managing editor for business and news, has left the paper to pursue graduate school on a full-time basis.

The change, says Liner, means that the coverage in the business section might be changing.

He wrote, “What does all this mean for our coverage? Well, not much change, really, except that I get really impatient with items in the newspaper that don’t relate to me or my neighbors. So, I predict you will see a great deal more space devoted to locally developed business coverage in the days to come.

“On that topic, I am proud to be associated with our current staff of business writers, Ferdie De Vega and Bruce Ritchie. Each has his specialty, of course. Ferdie is our point guy on small business and chambers of commerce. And Bruce will continue to write on growth and environment issues. Look for an additional writer to focus on health care and technology issues, among other things.”
