Small newspaper category: Aaron Kessler and Joaquin Sapien for “Contaminated Drywall Cover-Up” in Sarasota Herald-Tribune with ProPublica.

Magazine category: Michael Lewis for “Beware of Greeks Bearing Bonds” in Vanity Fair.

Breaking news category: Louise Story, Gretchen Morgenson and Joe Nocera for “S.E.C vs. Goldman” in The New York Times.

Beat reporting category: Paige St. John for “Florida’s Insurance Nightmare” in Sarasota Herald-Tribune.

News services category: David Evans for “Profiting From Fallen Soldiers” in Bloomberg News.

Explanatory category: Julia Angwin, Nick Wingfield, Scott Thurm and Yukari Iwatani Kane for “What They Know” in The Wall Street Journal.

Blogging category: Loren Steffy for “Reinvention of the Airlines” for Houston Chronicle.

Business book category: Bethany McLean and Joe Nocera for “All the Devils Are Here: The Hidden History of the Financial Crisis” published by Portfolio.

Note that I did not pick the winners in all categories. I picked winners in categories where I had read most, if not all, of the finalists. All of the finalists can be found here.
