Talev departs Bloomberg News

Margaret Talev

Margaret Talev, a senior White House correspondent at Bloomberg News, announced Tuesday that she was leaving the news organization.

On Twitter, Talev wrote, “Today, just want to say thank you to my team, colleagues, editors, this incredible company, for the journalism you do and all you’ve taught me on the way.”

Talev is past president of the White House Correspondents’ Association and the Washington Press Club Foundation.

Before reporting on President Donald Trump, she covered Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, Barack Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns, President Obama’s two terms in the White House, and Congress.

She previously wrote for McClatchy Newspapers, where she won the Scripps Howard Raymond Clapper Memorial Award as a part of a three-member team that exposed politicization of the Justice Department; the Los Angeles Times, where she was part of a team named as Pulitzer finalists for breaking news coverage of the crash of Alaska Airlines Flight 261; the Sacramento Bee, where she covered the 2003 California recall election and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger; and the Tampa Tribune, where she covered the rise of the Republican Party in the South and the first execution of a woman by electric chair in the U.S. since the 1950s.
