Swift Communications has sold four newspapers to Pacific Publishing Company, a family-owned company with operations in Washington and Nevada. The four publications that were sold include Nevada Appeal, Lahontan Valley News, The Record-Courier, and Northern Nevada View.
The transaction did not include Swift Communication’s Lake Tahoe-based publication, the Tahoe Daily Tribune. Bill Waters, the chairman and CEO of Swift Communications, offered this statement:
“The ownership change will provide the opportunity for sustainability of the products and services offered in the region as the teams at Pacific Publishing and Nevada News Group bring many years of experience and success coupled with a deep commitment to local, community journalism.”
