Rick Stine, who had been at The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires, was among the business journalists laid off by the news organization at the end of last month.

“It is true that after 30+ years I was one of those let go,” said Stine in an email to Talking Biz News.  “I plan to take some time off to catch up on things like golf. I haven’t thought too deeply yet about the next chapter but i do plan to get back into the game after taking a break.”

Stine was most recently senior editor of innovation, where he worked with editorial, technology and product departments to create new features and products for Dow Jones Newswires and The Wall Street Journal. He launched DJ FX Trader in early 2011.

Before that, Stine was a senior editor for Americas for Dow Jones Newswires for more than five years and a managing editor for Dow Jones for seven years.

Stine is a University of Richmond graduate and also worked at The Trentonian in Trenton, N.J.

Talking Biz News has heard other senior-level people were included in the layoffs, and we’re trying to reach them for confirmation.
