Steel named co-anchor of “Bloomberg Go”

Alix Steel

Bloomberg Television announced Thursday that Alix Steel has been named co-host of “Bloomberg Go,” joining David Westin and Jonathan Ferro.

She replaces Stephanie Ruhle, who left for MSNBC.

“Alix has the global markets and commodities experience to enhance our coverage for a global audience,” said Al Mayers, head of Bloomberg TV and Radio, in a statement. “Global expansion has been a strong focus for Bloomberg Television throughout the past year, and this move will benefit viewers around the world, whether they watch it live or digitally.”

Steel previously covered the global markets, economic news and commodities as anchor of “Bloomberg Markets” and co-anchor of “What’d You Miss?” She has interviewed figures including Congressman Ron Paul, economists Paul Krugman and Edmund Phelps, investors Jim Rogers, Donald Trump and Steve Forbes, Continental Resources CEO Harold Hamm and founder of Chesapeake Energy Tom Ward.

Prior to joining Bloomberg in February 2012, Steel was senior multimedia reporter, anchor and producer for TheStreet.com, where she focused on global markets as well as commodities, including oil, silver and copper with a primary focus on gold.

Steel also co-anchored a live trading show, “Morning Call,” for TheStreet and T3Live.com.
