State hires Thomas as retail reporter

The State newspaper in Columbia, South Carolina, has hired Laurryn Thomas to cover retail.

Thomas has been interning for the paper for the past eight weeks.

She previously was a Dow Jones News Fund intern covering business for The Greenville News in South Carolina. And she interned at the South Carolina Press Association.

Thomas is a graduate of the University of South Carolina.
