Gordon Oliver has joined the business reporting staff at The Columbian in Vancouver, Wash., succeeding Libby Tucker, who has been promoted to Web editor.
“Most recently, Oliver was an assistant business editor, a role in which he worked with a team on a series on the science of the computer chip, a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. Oliver also was lead editor of an award-winning five-part series on Oregon’s trade relationships with China. At The Columbian, Oliver will cover high-tech businesses, banking and finance, north Clark County business and business innovation.
“He will also take a lead role with the Innovate Clark County community microsite.
“Tucker, 31, has worked for a variety of publications, including the Daily Journal of Commerce in Portland and The New York Times. She is a 2002 graduate of Columbia Journalism School.”
