The St. Louis Business Journal has named Jacob Kirn as its managing editor, starting Oct. 25.
Associate editor Diana Barr writes, “Kirn steps into the post being vacated by Vince Brennan, who’s accepted a position with the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. Brennan, who joined the Business Journal as section editor in 2011, had filled the managing editor’s role since 2016.
“‘For 10 years, Vince Brennan has been the steady hand helping to guide this publication through a series of continuous changes. His professionalism, efficiency and leadership will sorely be missed in our newsroom,’ Editor Erik Siemers said. ‘At the same time, I’m thrilled to elevate Jacob to the managing editor role. His solid news instincts, combined with a sense of urgency and desire to lead, will help further our evolution into a daily source of must-read news.’
“Kirn, a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, has held a series of roles at the Business Journal since arriving in 2013, including digital producer, digital editor and economic development editor, where he has chronicled how St. Louis business intersects with government.”
