Eric Fisher of Sports Business Journal has been hired by SportsBusiness to be its first U.S. editor.
A story on its website states, “Fisher, a highly respected and well-connected 25-year veteran of American media and sport business, will lead SportBusiness’ editorial operations in and from the US and manage US-based editorial staff.
“He joins from Sports Business Journal where, for 14 years, he covered baseball, ticketing, technology and digital media and reported from many of the major events in US sport.
“The appointment is a significant step for SportBusiness operations in North America and will drive a ramp-up in the volume and quality of coverage of the world’s biggest and most influential sports market and the provision of essential data, insight and analysis for subscribers in the US and worldwide.
“‘I am very much looking forward to contributing to SportBusiness’ unique global coverage and helping to build the SportBusiness brand in the US,’ Fisher said.”
