Sports Business Journal reporter Kaplan kicked off hotel floor

Mike Florio of NBC Sports reports that Daniel Kaplan, a reporter for the Street & Smith’s Sports Business Journal, was booted from the floor at the Ritz-Carlton in Fort Lauderdale where the NFL was holding a meeting with the players union.

Florio writes, “Though he didn’t expect to be in the room during the negotiating session, he hoped to wait outside so that he could interview people as they enter and/or exit.

“But Kaplan says via Twitter that police ejected him from the floor where the meeting is being held.

“Kaplan later said that he will be permitted to go to the floor where the ownership meeting will commence at 11:00 a.m. ET.

“Meanwhile, Liz Mullen of SBJ has taken the case to Twitter, asking NFL spokesman Greg Aiello to let SBJcover labor 4 NFL fans.'”
