S&P Global Markets has hired Abbie Bennett as a reporter covering energy and the environment.
She will start next week.
Bennett has been covering Capitol Hill, the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Pentagon for “Connecting Vets,” an online national news service for CBS Radio (later purchased by Entercom, now called Audacy), where she produces enterprise and beat reporting, appears as a regular guest on radio shows and podcasts, edits stories for a team of reporters, manages social media and newsletters and serves as a producer for the website and national news service.
She previously spent three years at The (Raleigh) News & Observer covering Johnston County and Smithfield, and then as one of its real-time news reporters.
She was also a reporter at The Daily Reflector in Greenville, North Carolina, for three years.
Bennett is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, where she majored in journalism.
