The Spartanburg Herald-Journal plans to replace its Sunday Perspective section with a business section.
The change will occur on Sunday, Aug. 10, confirms executive editor Michael Smith to Talking Biz News.
“This will enable us to move the mostly wire commentary inside the A section and move the mostly local business content to the section front,” said Smith. “We are looking for two and a half pages each Sunday, highlighting new and growing businesses, local economic trends, workplace issues and local market conditions. We will feature a locally generated column each week.”
In promoting its business coverage, the Spartanburg paper recently created a Facebook page and a Twitter feed for its business section.
The paper is owned by the Halifax Media Group.
