South Carolina paper cuts standalone business section

March 18, 2009

The Myrtle Beach Sun News, a McClatchy paper, is cutting its standalone business section during the week, according to an announcement in Wednesday’s paper.

Editor Trisha O’Connor writes, “These changes will enable us to maintain our delivery times when we begin outsourcing our printing to Charleston on March 30.

“With these changes our Local news section will include a wider variety of content. Money coverage will be inside the Local section Tuesdays through Fridays. Wednesday’s Food and Vitality coverage and Saturday’s home and garden coverage also will appear inside Local.

“Saturday’s stand-alone business section, named Real Estate & Money, will include real estate coverage along with daily national and local business news. On Wednesdays through Saturdays our daily TV listings, comics, puzzles and classified ads will appear in the Classifieds section. Finally, our Kicks! Today daily listings will now appear on Page 2A.”
