Sorkin recognized as business news visionary

Andrew Ross Sorkin

Dean Rotbart of 2020 Business News Visionaries recognized Andrew Ross Sorkin of the New York Times and CNBC.

Rotbart writes, “Before Andrew even graduated Scarsdale High, he had talked his way into an internship at The New York Times. In 2001, at the ripe old age of 24, he convinced publisher Arthur Ochs Sulzberger Jr. to let him begin producing a weekday email letter, DealBook, to report on mergers, acquisitions, venture capital, and hedge funds.

“DealBook evolved into a highly lucrative blog, regular presence in the print edition, conference, and the envy of virtually every other business newspaper and wire service, most of which rushed to launch rival news sites.

“Never one to resist a challenge, while remaining on the staff of The New York Times, Andrew joined CNBC in 2011 to co-anchor its morning pre-market news and talk program, Squawk Box.

“Andrew’s 2010 bestseller, ‘Too Big to Fail,’ was adapted as a movie by HBO Films starring, among others, William Hurt, Ed Asner, Paul Giamatti, Billy Crudup, and Bill Pullman.”
