Solovieva hired as executive editor of TheStreet’s Real Money

Daria Solovieva

Daria Solovieva has been named executive editor at Real Money, the premium subscription business of TheStreet.

Solovieva’s hiring was announced at Tuesday morning’s editorial meeting, and she was introduced at CEO David Callaway’s weekly management meeting to the business managers.

For the past two years, Solovieva has been the editor in chief of ellaletter.com, a newsletter and media platform for female millennials in the Middle East. Ella curates news stories, profiles inspiring women, and connect a growing community of smart, ambitious women in the region.

Before that, she was a stock markets and Islamic finance reporter for Bloomberg News in Dubai.

Solovieva was also an editor at Business Today Egypt.

She has a bachelor’s degree from Bard College and a master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
