Social media editor Savage among Fortune’s layoffs

Emily Savage, social media editor at Fortune magazine, was among the 35 staffers laid off on Tuesday, she confirmed on Twitter.

Savage had been with the magazine as a full-time staffer working remotely from California since September.

She had been Fortune’s voice and posting strategy based on short and long-term data analysis and editorial goals. She was also Fortune’s social media lead for the audience team, crafting engaging posts across platforms including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram. She also occasionally wrote for editorial.

She previously was associate editor for social media and engagement for Pacific Standard magazine and music editor for the San Francisco Bay Guardian.
