Chris Smith, who has covered the business of sports for Forbes, has been hired by the Sports Business Journal.
He will be covering the business of the Olympics and sports entertainment.
Smith has been at Forbes since November 2011. He directly managed annual Forbes team valuation projects for Major League Soccer, NASCAR, Formula One, college football and basketball. He also assisted with research and reporting for other Forbes team valuation projects, such as NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, international soccer and esports, as well as its annual highest-paid athlete lists.
He also ran the Forbes SportsMoney Index, edited the annual Forbes 30 Under 30 sports list and oversaw Forbes’ sports contributor network, recruiting, managing and editing a team of some 150 freelance writers.
