Skift, which covers the travel and wellness industries, has hired Nancy Trejos as hospitality editor.
“Hospitality is one of our biggest beats & Nancy’s experience in covering it and larger travel sector over years will be a huge asset for us in next phase of our growth,” wrote CEO Rafat Ali on twitter.
Trejos has been a travel writer for USA Today, covering hotels and destinations. She has been at USA Today since 2011 before leaving in February 2019.
Prior to that, she spent 13 years at The Washington Post. She covered education and local government. She did a stint in Iraq to write about the war. She then covered real estate and personal finance during the recession. Her last few years at the Post were spent as a travel writer.
She has also worked for the Los Angeles Times and the Associated Press and contributed to Latina magazine.
